Cost: The fee to attend the conference is EUR 1190 (USD 1684) for private sector companies, EUR 690 (USD 976) for nonprofit organizations and EUR 250 (USD 353) for nonprofit organizations based in developing countries. Tiered discounts are available for registrations completed before August 16, 2011 and between August 16 and August 21, 2011. Registration begins August 1, 2011.

Summary of Event: The Seventh International Microinsurance Conference, hosted by Munich Re Foundation, a German grant-making foundation, will gather an estimated 500 participants and experts to share experiences and discuss major issues in the global microinsurance sector. The conference will have plenary panel discussions as well as smaller interactive sessions that bring together academics, insurance professionals, regulators and others.

Themes and Discussion Topics: The event will follow three themes: (1) economic analysis of microinsurance markets, (2) case studies of innovative client-centred microinsurance solutions and (3) thematic issues. The thematic issues to be covered include national and regional strategies to develop microinsurance, distribution and demand, protecting the poor against natural disasters and technology to achieve scale and efficiency.
