The International Conference on Inclusive Insurance 2023 will gather delegates from 50 countries to debate methods for boosting access to insurance for mass markets to support emerging economies’ growth and economic sustainability. The conference will focus on topics such as gender inclusivity, health and climate change as they relate to insurance. On October 27, participants can visit VisionFund Ghana, an affiliate of the US-based Christian organization VisionFund International that provides microfinance services such as insurance, loans, savings and training.
Background on Organizer: Munich Re, also known as Munich Reinsurance Company, is a German firm that was founded in 1880. It provides risk management and insurance services to 4,000 clients in 160 countries. During 2022, it generated EUR 3.4 billion (USD 3.6 billion) in profit on gross premiums of EUR 67 billion (USD 70.4 billion).
Founded in 2005, Munich Re Foundation seeks to address issues such as climate change through the use of insurance in emerging countries. Through its Risk Award, the NGO offers a biennial prize of EUR 100,000 (USD 105,000) for innovative solutions to managing disaster risk.
Cost: For private sector companies, the cost of the conference is USD 990 per person. Discounts are available to various categories of attendees, including representatives of NGOs.
