Summary of Event:

The conference is designed to be an interactive event that focuses on sharing academic and practical experience and innovations in the area of microinsurance.

Background on Organizers:
The Munich Re Foundation was established in 2005 by Munich Re, a German worldwide reinsurance company with assets of USD 273 billion at December 31, 2009.  Munich Re Foundation’s primary interest is to play an active part in finding innovative solutions in the context of international population development and globalization and reducing risks to which people are exposed. The foundation’s role is to concentrate specifically on the interaction between population development and water as a resource and potential risk factor.

It provides a platform for information sharing and stakeholder coordination with the aim to promote the development of insurance products for low-income persons.
