MICROFINANCE EVENT: Cracking the Nut: Reducing Risk in Rural and Agricultural Investment; June 12-13, 2023; Washington, DC, USA

This tenth iteration of “Cracking the Nut” will explore opportunities to finance agricultural supply chains to meet the needs of people working in the informal agriculture segment in low- and middle-income countries. The conference will focus on reducing the risk of investing in agricultural and other rural enterprises, expanding access to commercial markets for underserved populations, and blending subsidies and commercial capital to reach development goals. Following the event, a training titled Anti-Fragile Market Systems will be offered on June 14-15.

Background on Organizer: Connexus Corporation is a consulting firm based in the US that assists agricultural organizations in developing nations in acquiring investment from abroad. The company has worked in 22 countries as of 2023.

Cost: The fee to attend the conference is USD 395 for those registering during the early-registration period – by March 10 – and USD 695 thereafter. Likewise, the fee to attend the training is USD 795 during early registration and USD 1,095 thereafter. The combined pricing is USD 990 until March 10 and USD 1,690 afterward.
