This event will focus on increasing the reach of “investable and profitable businesses” that contribute to solving global issues. Through February 17, those who operate such entities may apply to participate in the SOCAP Entrepreneur Program, a six-month series of remote sessions that leads up to the SOCAP23 conference. Although the event agenda has not yet been released, the 2022 event featured sessions such as: (1) Financing Strategies for Sustainable, Equitable and Secure Food Systems; (2) Paying It Forward: A Regional Approach to Financing Economic Mobility; (3) Amplifying Community Impact Through Public-Private Partnerships; (4) Driving Prosperity, Equity and Community Through the Built Environment: Case Studies in Impact Real Estate; (5) Climate-smart Futures: How Emerging Fintech [Financial Technology] and Web3 Startups are Building a New Paradigm for Climate Resilience; (6) Innovative Business Models for Transforming Food Waste into Value; and (7) Fast, Friendly and Effective: Disruptive Philanthropy Fueling Equal Opportunity and Entrepreneurship.
Background on Organizer: Established in 2008, the Social Capital Markets (SOCAP) Group is a US-based public benefit corporation providing networking and educational opportunities. Its areas of focus are: Impact Investing, Social Entrepreneurship, Equity and Inclusion, Climate Action, Sustainable Development, and Stakeholder Capitalism. SOCAP operates under the purview of the US-based Sorenson Impact Center, which is located at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business.
Cost: The fee to attend the event is USD 999. Those accepted into the SOCAP Entrepreneur Program may attend at no charge and bring a colleague at a discounted rate.
