MEDA’s history dates back to 1953 when a group of Mennonite businessmen invested in a dairy farm in Paraguay. MEDA’s strategic plan addresses six of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: (1) No Poverty; (2) Zero Hunger; (3) Gender Equality; (4) Decent Work and Economic Growth; (5) Climate Action; and (6) Partnerships for the Goals. As of 2021, MEDA reported total assets of USD 22 million and outreach to approximately 1 million people.
