MICROFINANCE EVENT: Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) Investor Forum; October 12-13, 2022; the Hague, the Netherlands

The goal of this event is to connect the various elements of “the impact ecosystem” to expand the impact investing market, thus boosting efforts to create “positive, measurable social and environmental impact” alongside financial returns. The agenda includes sessions titled: (1) Accelerating Social Impact at Scale Through Market-based Models: The India Experience; (2) Transforming Investor Behavior and Incorporating Stakeholder Voice Into the Investment Process; (3) Reversing the Trends: Options for Investing Into Climate Regeneration; (4) Harnessing the Power of Technology to Accelerate SDG [Sustainable Development Goals]: From Applied Engineering to Deep-tech Innovations; (5) Making Markets Ready for Large-scale Investment: What Are Our Options?; (6) How Do Climate Rules, Tools, Standards and More Translate to Private Markets?; and (7) Pursuing Environmental Justice to Restore Biodiversity and Our Ecosystems.

Background on Organizer: Established in 2009, the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) is a US-based nonprofit association of approximately 360 investors and service providers that have an interest in impact investing. The organization arranges gatherings, provides training and performs research in an effort to increase “the level and effectiveness of capital that is supporting market-based solutions to social and environmental problems.”

Cost: The standard fee to attend the event is USD 2,500. Participants representing NGOs, development finance institutions, governments and asset owners qualify for discounts of USD 750. GIIN members may enjoy a rate of USD 1,600.
