Themed “Catalysing Finance for Impact,” this event will cover ways of leveraging blended finance, carbon markets and digitisation to enable transition to net-zero emissions and other forms of sustainable development. The agenda features sessions such as: (1) Challenges to 2030: How to Finance a Climate-secure, Sustainable Society; (2) What Does “Corporate Responsibility” for Climate Change Really Look Like?; (3) Evolution of the Voluntary Market; (4) New Opportunities for Accessing Investment Using Innovative Finance for Impact Approaches; (5) Tokenisation Beyond the Hype: How Well-designed Digital Assets Can Benefit the Last Mile; and (6) The Future is Digital: MRV [Measurement, Reporting and Verification], Open APIs [Application Programming Interface], Connected Marketplaces.
Background on Organizer: Gold Standard, which is based in Switzerland, was founded in 2003 by a group of nonprofits. Its goal is to support efforts to mitigate human impacts on climate “through robust standards and verified impacts.” This includes work on themes such as environmental markets, corporate sustainability and climate finance. As of 2022, the Gold Standard reports that its efforts span 100 countries and “have created over USD 36 billion in shared value for climate action and sustainable development.”
Cost: The fee to attend the entire event is EUR 650 (USD 709), or one may register for a single day for EUR 350 (USD 382). All registrants have access to the evening networking event on June 26.
