MICROFINANCE EVENT : Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) Investor Forum 2019; October 2-3, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

This summit provides impact investors opportunities to attend seminars and discussions on the following themes: Market Development, Product Development, Environment, Integrating Impact and Inclusion & Diversity. Sample session topics include the role of “aggregate data” in impact investing, sustainable housing and the future of impact investing in China. The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) defines impact investing as “investments made into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.” The 2018 GIIN Investor Forum attracted 1,200 investors representing 800 organizations in 80 countries.

Event Organizer: Established in 2009, GIIN is a US-based nonprofit association of approximately 300 investors and service providers with an interest in impact investing. The organization arranges various gatherings, provides training and performs research in an effort to increase “the level and effectiveness of capital that is supporting market-based solutions to social and environmental problems.” Its total membership includes about 300 organizations.

Cost: The regular rate for members of the public is EUR 1,995 (USD 2,248), and GIIN members may enjoy a rate of EUR 995 (USD 1,121). Non-members in certain categories qualify for an intermediate rate. There are also discounts for groups of three or more as well as for those who register before an unspecified “early-bird” deadline.
