MICROFINANCE EVENT: GSG Global Impact Summit 2023; October 2-3; Malaga, Spain

Organised by the UK-based NGO Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG) and its Spanish National Advisory Board (SpainNAB), this year’s Global Impact Summit will focus on three topic areas: (1) Mobilising Capital for People and Planet Where It Is Most Needed; (2) Achieving Full Transparency in Measuring Impacts – Impact Transparency 2025; and (3) Building Impact Economies. The speakers are to include José Luis Curbelo Ranero, CEO of the Spanish government’s Compañia Española de Financiación del Desarrollo (COFIDES); Xu Hu, Deputy Head of Research at the Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion; Laura Ortiz Montemayor, Chief Purpose Officer at SVX Mexico; Agustín Vitórica of Spain’s Gawa Capital; and Margo Walsh of US-based employment agency MaineWorks.

Background on Organizers: The Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG) is a UK-based charitable organization that advocates the use of capital to generate positive “social and environmental outcomes alongside financial returns.” It was founded in 2015 to continue the work of the Social Impact Investment Taskforce, which was established in 2013. The membership of GSG spans 36 countries.

SpainNAB is a network of investors, NGOs and other organizations working with GSG to further investment that generates positive, measurable environmental and societal change.

Cost: The fee to attend is EUR 415 (USD 450).
