Sa-Dhan’s 18th annual conference will focus on alleviating poverty through financial inclusion and associated services, including: (1) Microinsurance; (2) Micropensions; (3) Health; (4) Water and Sanitation; (5) Clean Energy and Climate Change; (6) Digitization; and (7) Affordable Housing. The programming also will facilitate linkages among development agencies, financial institutions and entrepreneurs – all while honoring Sa-Dhan’s 25th anniversary.
Background on Organizer: Sa-Dhan is an association of Indian institutions aiming to improve the social and financial well-being of low-income communities through financial services. Its 220 members include financial and social service providers that serve 44 million people with an aggregate gross loan portfolio of INR 1.3 trillion (USD 15 billion). Sa-Dhan is recognized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as a self-regulatory organization, giving it the power to monitor its member microfinance institutions (MFIs), including the responsibility to document that they meet various standards for client protection. Sa-Dhan also publishes the Bharat Microfinance Report, an annual statistical analysis of the financial inclusion sector in India.
Cost: For attendees from India, the fee is INR 8,000 (USD 100) for one person plus INR 7,000 (USD 85) for additional participants registering together. The fee for international delegates is USD 250. Pricing is exclusive of 18-percent tax.
