MICROFINANCE EVENT: Opportunity Collaboration; September 25-29, 2022; Miches, Dominican Republic

This event is dedicated to fostering relationships among social entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders and funders via “conversations for change, capacity-building clinics, mealtime salons, affinity circles and impromptu working groups.” Delegates may also present profiles on their organizations. While the detailed agenda has not been released, previous iterations of this event have included attendee-led sessions on topics such as “Corporate Social Responsibility in International Development: Human Rights Challenges” and “Supporting Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Resilience to Keep Your Team on Mission for the Long Haul.”

Background on organiser: Opportunity Collaboration is a US-based network of individuals dedicated to “building sustainable solutions to poverty and injustice.” In addition to producing an in-person conference each year, the organization offers OC365, a monthly series of online sessions. Both structures are intended to provide opportunities for delegates to network, discuss strategies and pool resources for reducing poverty.

Cost: The fee, which includes accommodation, meals, local transportation, and recreation facilities, is USD 2,500 if staying in a shared suite or USD 3,450 to have a private suite. Attendance includes complimentary participation in OC365.
