The 22nd annual conference of the Poland-based nonprofit Microfinance Center (MFC) will focus on challenges and trends relating to digitalization in financial inclusion. In addition to traditional conference sessions, the event will include a Social Investors Fair and a Fintech Marketplace. Sample workshop topics include Responsible Digital Financial Services; Fintechs [Financial Technology Firms] and Financial Inclusion in Turkey and Beyond; and EU Funding for Microfinance. Pre- and post-conference events include a meeting of CGAP’s (Consultative Group to Assist the Poor’s) FinEquity project on women’s financial inclusion on May 29 and the annual meeting of MFC’s CEO Forum on June 1.
Background on organizer: MFC is a network of 113 microfinance institutions (MFIs) and other stakeholders serving 1 million low-income people in 36 countries. It offers knowledge management, advocacy, technical assistance, and research and development services with the intent to “empower individuals and sustain communities through innovative social finance and microfinance.”
Cost: Until May 14, the standard fee to register is EUR 720 (USD 805), with discounts available for MFC members and group registrations. Beginning May 15, all registrations incur an on-site rate of EUR 800 (USD 895).
