This event will promote networking among impact ecosystem actors to facilitate the deployment of capital in Latin America and the Caribbean. On August 27, members of the Colombia-based network Latimpacto will meet for a pre-event dinner. The main event offers sessions titled: (1) The Role of the Multilaterals Acting as Change Agents on the Impact Investing Ecosystem; (2) How to Involve Large Corporations in the Impact Ecosystem; (3) How Impact Capital Can Drive the Youth Revolution in Latin America; (4) Best Practices for De-risking Investments in Latin America; (5) Toolkit for Measuring and Evaluating Social Investment; (6) Innovative Finance for Migrant Inclusion; and (7) Climate Justice: How Failure to Understand Climate Intersections is Affecting Vulnerable Demographies. From August 31 to September 2, site visits are available to the Amazon, Fortaleza and Ilhéus/Serra Grande.
Background on Organizer: Latimpacto connects 200 investors that work in Latin America and the Caribbean to create impacts such as improving the condition of the natural environment and helping migrants integrate into host communities. The organization develops training programs and otherwise shares knowledge on topics such as “impact finance, non-financial support and capital management and measurement.” Latimpacto also operates a networking platform called Porimpacto.
Cost: The standard fee to attend the event is USD 1,000. Delegates representing partner organizations are offered a reduced rate of USD 750, and the admission fee for Latimpacto members is USD 700. Additional fees apply for site visits.
