MICROFINANCE EVENT: Foro Latinoamericano de Inversión de Impacto (Latin American Impact Investing Forum); February 19-21, 2019; Merida, Mexico

This forum will host conversations among representatives of organizations that partake in and advocate for entrepreneurship in Latin America in general, and especially those focused on impact investing, a term that refers to investing with the dual aims of positively affecting communities while also generating profits. Participants will share knowledge and successes with the purpose of generating more positive results and collaboration among “social and environmental companies, corporates, investment funds, foundations, NGOs, business schools, business media, among others.” The themes of this year’s forum include: Impact Investing, Climate Change, Financial Health, Social Banking, Innovative Financial Structures, Systemic Change, Blended Finance, Value Chain, and Frontier Finance: Missing Middle(s).

Background on Organizers: New Ventures Mexico (NVM) provides advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises that seek to make a positive social and environmental impact. NVM was launched in Mexico in 2009 by the World Resources Institute, a US-based nonprofit environmental think tank, and the Fondo Mexicano para la Conservacion de la Naturaleza, a Mexican NGO dedicated to the conservation of Mexican biodiversity and culture.

Cost: The registration fee is USD 975. Participants who register before January 2, 2019, may enjoy a rate of USD 650.
