Summary of Event:
The Calgary Microcredit Conference will focus on social entrepreneurship by investigating how microcredit can help in the promotion of social business development. Dr Muhammad Yunus’ latest book, “Building Social Business: The New Kind of Capitalism That Serves Humanity’s Most Pressing Needs,” will serve as a template for discussion.

Background on Hosts:
The conference is hosted by three nonprofit organizations: the Fig Tree Foundation, a Canadian philanthropy that supports development projects and promotes discussion; the Rotarian Action Group for Microcredit (RAGM), the vehicle through which US-based service organization Rotary International conducts its microcredit activities; and the District 5630 Microcredit Task Force, an initiative of the Calgary-area Rotary Group.
