Event Summary: The conference will focus on microfinance and technology, the politics of microfinance and lessons for impact investing. Speakers include Michael Schlein, CEO, Accion; Shivani Siroya, CEO and founder, InVenture; Daryl Skoog, executive director, MicroPlanet Technologies; Adriana Magdas, senior associate for financial inclusion, Accion; Stephanie Hanson, director of policy and outreach, One Acre Fund; Batool Hassan, head of business development, Acumen Fund; Timothy Ogden, managing director, Financial Access Initiative at NYU; John Walker, director of finance, Echoing Green; and Assad Mahmood, managing director, Global Social Investment Funds, Deutsche Bank. Each of the speakers is based in the US.

About the Keynote Speaker: Michael Schlein is the president and CEO of Accion. Schlein brings approximately 25 years of experience in international banking, management and public service, previously having served as president of International Franchise Management for US-based Citigroup; chief of staff at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, and Deputy Mayor of New York City for Finance and Economic Development.
