MICROFINANCE EVENT: Sankalp West Africa Summit; June 12-13, 2023; Accra, Ghana

This event will focus on mechanisms through which entrepreneurial partnerships in regions such as South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa, can solve global issues. The organizers expect approximately 80 speakers and 300 delegates discussing topics such as: (1) Agriculture; (2) Climate Change and Clean Energy; (3) Gender and Livelihood; (4) Impact Investing; (5) Healthcare & WASH [Water, Sanitation and Hygiene]; (6) South-South Collaborations; and (7) Enterprise Support.

Background on Organizers: The Aavishkaar-Intellecap Group supports entrepreneurs via equity funds, a venture debt vehicle, microfinance, advisory services and investment banking. As of 2021, the group manages assets totaling USD 1.1 billion and employs 6,500 people in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Kenya and the US. Intellecap is an India-based unit of the group that “works to build businesses that can benefit the underserved segments across Asia and Africa,” including in the fields of health, agriculture and financial inclusion.
