MICROFINANCE EVENT: Banking on the Last Mile Annual Conference; October 1-3, 2019; Kampala, Uganda

Themed “Enhancing Financial Inclusion at the Last Mile Through Partnerships,” this conference will explore the impact of technology on the end-users of microfinance services. In particular, the organizers seek to address how financial technology disrupts conventional banking and increase the number of previously unbanked households. Sessions also will cover topics including evaluating the effectiveness of digital financial services (DFS) at the last mile, DFS and consumer protection, banking agents, saving groups, and banking linkages.

Background on Organizer: The eLearn Center, which is located in Kampala, Uganda, offers training and consultancy services relating to entrepreneurship. The organization is accredited by Directorate of Industrial Training of Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports.

Cost: The cost to attend is USD 500 excluding accommodation or USD 950 with accommodation.
