MICROFINANCE EVENT: Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs’ (ANDE’s) Metrics from the Ground Up; June 12 – 13, 2018; Washington, DC, USA

Summary of Event: The tenth iteration of this event will address how to quantify impact in the “small and growing businesses” (SGBs) sector. Participants will take stock of the progress made over the last decade as well as discussing ways to overcome challenges in the industry. Draft agenda items include; Collecting Data Across the Five Dimensions of Impact, Using Outcome Data to Guide Strategic Decisions, Building a Measurement and Analytics System for Technology-enabled Intermediaries, Measuring and Managing Impact with a Gender Lens, and Statistical Learning for Customized Simple Poverty Measurement.

Background on Organizers: The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), is a US-based network of organizations dedicated to encouraging innovation in low- and middle-income countries by investing in SGBs. ANDE researches SGBs with the aim of helping its members invest wisely, responsibly and impactfully. It has approximately 260 members working in 150 countries. Its parent organization, the Aspen Institute, is a nonpartisan think tank dedicated to education and international development policy.

Cost: The fee to attend is USD 600, with a rate of USD 250 offered to ANDE members.
