MICROFINANCE EVENT: 24th MFC Annual Conference: Microfinance Investing Through Uncertainty; June 29-30, 2022; Istanbul, Turkey

The conference is slated to cover investment opportunities and other strategies for addressing “gender, green finance and technological challenges” related to inclusive finance in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event features seminars with titles such as: (1) Migration, Refugees and the Climate Crisis: New Microfinance Frontier?; (2) Microfinance Investing in Uncertain Times: Outlook, Products and Solutions; (3) Technology and Uncertainty: Key Insights on Building the Digital Future of Microfinance; and (4) Fair Finance for Women: How to Invest with a Gender Lens?. Among the presenters are two representatives of conference partner Agents for Impact, Founder and CEO Andrij Fetsun and Director of Debt Investments Andrii Tiurenkov.

Background on Organizers: The conference is organized by the Microfinance Centre (MFC), a network of 95 organizations in 36 countries in Central Asia and Europe. The goal of the NGO is to “empower people and communities through sustainable social finance.”

Cost: The registration fee is EUR 900 (USD 990), with a rate of EUR 770 (USD 840) offered to MFC members. A discount of 10 percent applies for those registering by May 6, 2022. Additional fees apply for registrations completed after June 15, 2022.
