MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: Unitus and Hewitt Launch Microfinance Compensation & Benefits Survey in India

Unitus, an international nonprofit, has partnered with human resources consulting firm Hewitt to launch the second annual ‘Microfinance Compensation & Benefits Survey’ in India. The study will evaluate microfinance institutions (MFIs) across India on key measures of compensation and benefits, including the benchmarking of 25 key positions across eight organizational levels. It will study 10 popular non-cash benefits, including loans, insurance, incentives/bonus, leave, travel policy, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and rewards and recognition.

The survey is part of Unitus’s MFI Industry Compensation & Benefits Forum, which focuses on remuneration in the microfinance industry. The results of this survey are intended to initiate workshops, additional studies and discussion.
