MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: Themed “Inclusive Growth in a Digital Era,” Financial Inclusion Week 2022 Offers 180 Virtual Sessions, October 17-20

For the eighth year, the Center for Financial Inclusion, a program of the US-based NGO Accion, is organizing Financial Inclusion Week, an opportunity for all stakeholders to attend virtual sessions – both live and on-demand – at no charge. The theme for 2022 is “Inclusive Growth in a Digital Era,” with sessions covering 14 topics such as Climate Change, Client Protection, Crypto, Insurance, Migrants, Regulation & Supervision, Understanding Impact and Women’s Financial Inclusion. The sessions take place from October 17 through October 20, 2022.

Founded in 1961, Accion is a nonprofit that seeks to alleviate poverty by offering services such as microenterprise loans and business training. During 2021, the NGO worked with partner organizations in dozens of countries that together held savings from 11 million people and small enterprises, issued 8 million loans and wrote 6 million insurance policies. In addition to Accion Venture Lab, Accion invests through Accion Global Investments and Accion Frontier Investments as well as conducting research via the Center for Financial Inclusion.
