The Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN), a disseminator of microfinance information with 12 microfinance institution members, plans to set up a credit bureau by the end of April 2010. The bureau will provide information on borrowers’ credit histories and lenders’ interest rates for microfinance institutions (MFIs) and banks. In another effort to increase transparency in the microfinance industry, PMN developed two benchmarking software applications, as was reported by MicroCapital earlier this month.
