MICROFINANCE EVENT: VC4A, ABAN Present “Africa Early Stage Investor Summit;” November 11-12, 2018; Cape Town, South Africa

Co-hosted by the Netherlands-based Venture Capital for Africa (VC4A) and the Mauritius-based African Business Angel Network (ABAN), this year’s gathering is the fifth edition of the summit. The event will encourage networking among delegates and the discussion of their recent investments in startups and early-stage firms. Although the 2018 program is still under development, 2017 sessions included the African Angel Investor Roundtable, Key Ingredients for Africa’s Startup Community, and State of Play: Current Investment Climate. The event again will include the VC4A Venture Showcase, an opportunity for early-stage firms to pitch their ideas to a panel of representatives from private investment funds. The 2017 showcase resulted in deals totalling USD 12 million.
