The event will include sessions such as: (1) Integrated Energy Planning & Smart Subsidies to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals; (2) Utility-scale Solar: From Market Concept to Realized Project Development; (3) The Promise & Potential of Carbon Finance; (4) Exploring Africa’s Mini-grid Financing Landscape; and (5) Early-stage Equity Investments in the Off-grid Solar Market. Longer workshops will explore Local-currency Debt Financing, Scaling Electric Cooking, and Results-based Financing and Its Impact on Access to Finance.
Background on Organizers: Founded in 2012, the Netherlands-based Global Off-grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) has 200 members. It offers market information; discussion and learning forums; and information on best practices in business, finance and technology as they relate to the off-grid solar energy industry.
Established in 2004 and headquartered in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, Solarplaza organizes business-to-business events related to solar power. The firm hosted approximately 200 events in 45 countries from its inception through 2023. The organization also founded Solarplaza Foundation “to accelerate the sustainable energy transition for all’’ and Solarplaza Consultancy “to tailor market entry and project development solutions.’’
