MICROFINANCE EVENT: Fintech and Insurtech Innovator Summit (FINNOSUMMIT) for Innovation on Financial Services in Latin America; September 10-13, 2019; Mexico City

This eighth iteration of this event offers speakers, panels and workshops related to financial technology (fintech) and insurance technology (insurtech), as well as access to two startup competitions. Session topics include “Empowering Communities + Expecting Returns: Lessons Learned from Impact Investing,” “Fundraising 101 for Fintech Entrepreneurs,” and “Venture Debt: Insights on Liquidity & Long Term Growth for Fintechs.” The BBVA Open Talent competition, which is named for the Spanish banking group Grupo Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), focuses on introducing the concept of inclusivity to the world of conventional banking. Twenty FINNOSUMMIT Challenge finalists also will pitch their startups for the chance to win access to partnerships, mentorships and financing.

Event Organizer: Finnovista, a privately held organization with offices in Mexico and Spain, incubates fintech and insurtech startups through a platform of acceleration and scaling programs, conferences, research, competitions and a “co-creation space”. Finnovista is part of the Denmark-based Rainmaking Group, a corporate innovation and venture development firm with offices on four continents. 

Cost: The comprehensive fee for all four days of the event is MXN 9,290 (USD 463), with a rate of MXN 4,590 (USD 229) available to representatives of startups. For the general public attending the event only on certain days, the fees range from MXN 3,790 (USD 189) to MXN 5,690 (USD 284). For startups, these options range from MXN 1,890 (USD 94) to MXN 3,990 (USD 199).
