MICROFINANCE EVENT: FinovateMiddleEast; November 19-21, 2019; Dubai, UAE

FinovateMiddleEast is part of an annual international conference series that focuses on financial technology (fintech), with events in five cities around the world. The final two days of this event offer keynote addresses and panel discussions on topics including: (1) establishing the Middle East as a fintech hub; (2) how “crowdfunding can allow small and medium enterprises to access finance” more readily; (3) how incumbent banks can combat the competition from fintech; and (4) using data to personalise customer interactions to improve client satisfaction. Selected firms will also offer live demonstrations of products such as an automated investment app and an “artificial intelligence robo-advisor to simplify financial tools for amateur investors.” The summit day on November 19 offers a separate agenda on fintech in the banking, real estate and wealth management industries.

Background on Organizer: The Finovate Group, a US-based research firm, began offering events on innovation in the banking and financial technology sectors in 2007. It is part of Informa, a UK-based research and events firm.

Cost: The cost to attend the event on November 20 and 21 is USD 1,395. Separate pricing applies to the summit on November 19. Various discounts are available, including for those who: register prior to October 17, attend as a group, or represent government agencies or startups. Complimentary passes may be available upon request for senior partners at venture capital firms and fintech investors.
