Summary of Event:
Commencing on World Poverty Day, this networking and problem-solving event provides an opportunity for social entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, social financiers and others to explore levels of collaboration, to identify opportunities for leveraging resources across organizations and to accelerate proven models for reducing poverty. The “UN-” in the name of the event refers to its intent to be different from traditional lecture-based conferences in several ways including its emphasis on group discussion and problem solving.
Background on Host:
Opportunity Collaboration is a community of 250 people focused on poverty alleviation. This community convenes annually on World Poverty Day to leverage resources, share innovations and attempt to learn to operate more effectively. Its mission is to promote networking and foster collaboration with the goal of accelerating the work of global and domestic poverty alleviation.
