The conference will explore trends and challenges in the microfinance industry, measuring social performance and establishing microfinance investment vehicles (MIVs).

Background on Organizers:

Event organizers include the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) and the Luxembourg Fund Labelling Agency (LuxFLAG).

ALFI is the official representative body for the Luxembourg investment fund industry. Its four main objectives are to: help members capitalize on industry trends, shape regulations, encourage professionalism and promote the Luxembourg fund industry.

LuxFLAG is an independent, nonprofit association that aims to promote the raising of capital for microfinance by awarding a recognizable label to eligible microfinance investment vehicles (MIV). The purpose of this is to reassure investors that the MIV actually invests, directly or indirectly, in the microfinance sector.

About the Presenters: Presenters include representatives from the government, investment banks, microfinance organizations, consulting firms, development organizations and nonprofit organizations.
