Cost: Tickets for the conference cost CAD 125 (USD 122) with an early registration rate of CAD 100 (USD 97) until September 24.
Summary of Event: The theme for the event is “Microfinance: Catalyst for Change.” This conference will feature presentations such as current microfinance topics on the relationship between microfinance and women’s empowerment, water, local initiatives and more. There will also be a “micromarketplace,” during which microentrepreneurs and organizations will present their work and products.
About the Presenters: The keynote speakers are Mr Bob Rae, a lawyer, negotiator, and former Member of Parliament for the Toronto Centre and Mr Ian Smillie, Founder of Inter Pares, a Canada-based organization that promotes international social justice, and former Executive Director of Cuso, an international nonprofit development organization that places volunteers in international positions.
