MICROFINANCE EVENT: Financial Inclusion That Works for Women; March 2, 2023; London, UK

This event will review the 2022 edition of the European Microfinance Award, which was themed “Financial Inclusion that Works for Women.” Sam Mendelson of the Luxembourg-based European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP) will discuss lessons learned from the award process, drawing on examples from its 10 semifinalists.

Background on Organizers: Founded in 2005, the Financial Inclusion Forum (FIF) is a UK-based firm that organizes events on topics such as fintech (financial technology), consumer protection, smallholder agriculture, gender issues, microinsurance, renewable energy and livelihood development. FIF reports turnover of GBP 18,000 (USD 22,000) for the year 2021.

Founded in 2006, e-MFP is a network of approximately 130 microfinance organizations and individuals that promotes cooperation among European microfinance actors working in developing countries. The NGO’s members include financial institutions, NGOs, government agencies, consultancies, researchers and universities.
