The summit offers sessions titled Islamic Finance and Financial Inclusion; Investment Opportunities in CIS and Uzbekistan; Islamic Banking and Finance in CIS Region; Takaful (Islamic Insurance); and Sukuk, Islamic Bonds & Islamic Capital Markets. The post-summit workshop will delve into topics such as Contracts for Islamic Banking and Finance; Global Landscape & Drivers of FinTech [Financial Technology] Growth; Risk Management in Islamic Banking & Finance; and Riba [Interest] & Its Prohibition. Islamic finance refers to financial services that comply with Shariah principles, such as the use of profit sharing in lieu of charging interest.
Background on Organizer: Established in 2005, AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics (AlHuda CIBE) has offices in Pakistan and the UAE. Its services include “advisory and consultancy, research and development, education and capacity building, Shariah advisory and publication and events.”
