MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: NpM Unveils Database of Funders of Agtech (Agricultural Technology) in Africa, Asia

NpM, formerly known as the Netherlands Platform for Microfinance, recently rolled out a database of approximately 200 funders of agricultural technology (agtech) in Africa and Asia. Users can filter the funds by factors including geography, size of fund, investment size and types of investment offered. The database is based on the work published in a 2018 paper called “Critical Capital for African Agri-Food SMEs.”

Established in 2003, NpM has a membership of 13, comprising Dutch development organizations, social investors and commercial banks that work in the inclusive finance sector. These members have approximately EUR 4 billion (USD 4.5 billion) in assets deployed in 97 countries.
