The Imp-Act Consortium, a UK-based organization that encourages improved social performance in microfinance, has launched its new website, which focuses on practitioner stories. The website also explains the principles behind social performance management (SPM) and links to resources for microfinance institutions (MFIs).
As of 2011, the consortium consists of nine members and is supported by donor funding from organizations such as the Ford Foundation, Concern Worldwide, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and MicroNed. According to the Social Performance Task Force (SPTF), an initiative of CGAP (Consultative Group to Assist the Poor), social performance includes operating “in line with accepted social values that relate to serving larger numbers of poor and excluded people.”
