MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: Mambu Online Software-as-a-Service Management Information System (MIS) for Microfinance Institutions Releases Latest Version, Remains Free To Small Lenders

The team behind Mambu, a web-based software application for microfinance institutions (MFIs), has recently announced the release of Mambu v1.9, the latest version of the software service [1]. Mambu’s functionalities, which include portfolio management, client tracking, transaction auditing and reporting, can all be accessed online, reducing the need for MFIs to invest in technological infrastructure. The service can also allow field agents to access information using mobile phones.

The latest version includes new customization options and the addition of the “current account” deposit type, with an optional overdraft facility, allowing MFIs with these products to manage overdraft limits and interest rates.

Mambu offers the service at no charge to MFIs with up to 1,500 clients. A monthly subscription fee based on the number of clients is charged for larger organizations.
