Impact Asset Management (I-AM), a unit of Austria’s C-Quadrat Investment Group, recently announced it has disbursed a total of USD 35 million to microfinance institutions in Armenia, El Salvador, Panama, Uzbekistan and four other countries. While I-AM has not released the names of the latter countries or any of the borrowers, it did announce a recent local-currency loan to the Filipino microfinance institution One Puhunan, which is also known as CreditAccess Philippines.
Founded in 2014, One Puhunan provides loans to small enterprises and low-income individuals, mostly in rural areas and nearly all to women. One Puhunan is a unit of CreditAccess SEA, which is registered in the Netherlands and operates in several nations in Southeast Asia. Financial data on the firms are not available.
I-AM made all of these investments via the two Dual Return sub-funds, Vision Microfinance and Vision Microfinance Local Currency. The various share classes of these sub-funds generated one-month returns of 0.09 percent to 1.09 percent during May 2022. As of 2021, the funds held assets valued at EUR 677 million (USD 734 million).
I-AM, which was founded in the city of Vienna in 2006, “focuses on sustainable investments and microfinance products.” As of December 2021, it reports assets under management totaling EUR 3.4 billion (USD 3.7 billion).
C-Quadrat was founded in 1991 and since has built its portfolio to a valuation of EUR 8 billion (USD 8.7 billion).
