Description
Frontiers was founded in 2003 by donations channeled through the American non-profit organization ACDI/VOCA as part of the Central Asia Microfinance Alliance (CAMFA), a project financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Frontiers aims to support microfinance institutions (MFIs), which are retail microlenders, by providing wholesale loans.

Global Partnerships Microfinance Fund is a microfinance investment vehicle, which mobilizes capital for microfinance institutions (MFIs).
Description
Global Partnerships Microfinance Fund is comprised of a series of three funds (Global Partnerships Microfinance Fund 2005, Global Partnerships Microfinance Fund 2006, Global Partnerships Microfinance Fund 2008), which invest in microfinance institutions (MFIs), which are retail micro-lenders.
Global Partnerships Microfinance Fund 2005 (MFF 2005) is a USD 2.0 million fund composed of USD 200,000 in philanthropic capital as equity leveraged 10 times by USD 1.8 million in private capital from qualified individual and institutional investors. GP MFF 2005 is currently invested in eight partners in four Latin American countries.
Global Partnerships Microfinance Fund 2006 (MFF 2006) is a USD 8.5 million fund composed of USD 255,000 in philanthropic capital as equity leveraged at a ratio of 32 to 1 by USD 8.2 million in socially motivated debt capital from qualified individual and institutional investors. The fund closed in March 2007 and was disbursed to 14 qualified MFI partners in six countries.
Global Partnerships Microfinance Fund 2008 (MFF 2008) is a USD 20 million fund composed of USD 1.5 million in philanthropic capital as equity leveraged by USD 18.5 million in socially motivated investment of debt and equity capital from qualified individual and institutional investors. The fund closed in November 2008 and will expand all three Global Partnerships’ Funds support to a total of 30 partners in eight countries.
The three funds select MFIs in Latin America that have business models deemed sustainable and are committed to social impact. The three Global Partnerships Microfinance Funds are sub-funds of Global Partnerships.

Goodwell
Overview
Goodwell is a microfinance investment vehicle, which mobilizes capital for microfinance institutions (MFIs) through equity investments.
Description
Goodwell invests in both new “entrepreneurial” microfinance institutions (MFIs) and established MFIs using long-term risk capital. For start-up and small scale MFIs, Goodwell works with IntelleCash, which provides operational support to the MFIs. Goodwell has founded two funds thus far, Goodwell MDC I and Goodwell MDC II. Goodwell MDC I and Goodwell MDC II are structured as private equity companies. These companies invest in three regional funds: Aavishkaar Goodwell, which invests in India; Goodwell West-Africa, which invests in West Africa; and Aavishkaar Goodwell II, which invests in India. The regional investment companies are established and managed by Aavishkaar in India, Alitheia in Nigeria and JCS in Ghana.

Description
The Grameen Credit Agricole Microfinance Foundation was founded in 2008 with a EUR 50 million (USD 73 million) endowment provided by Crédit Agricole SA and Grameen Trust. The Grameen Credit Agricole Microfinance Foundation offers a range of financing products to microfinance institutions (MFIs), which are retail micro-lenders. The Foundation targets MFIs that are deemed to be adhering to best governance, transparency, and consumer protection practices. The foundation focuses on MFIs dedicated to agricultural and rural development, specifically those intended for women.
