MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: Larry Reed to Succeed Sam Daley-Harris as Director of Microcredit Summit Campaign

The Microcredit Summit Campaign, a program of US-based advocacy group RESULTS Educational Fund, has announced that Mr Larry Reed will be the new director of the program beginning in 2012 when the current director and founder Mr Sam Daley-Harris steps down at the end of 2011 [1]. Mr Reed is the author of the State of the Microcredit Summit Campaign Report 2011, an annual report on the outreach of microfinance to poor people. He has been the chief executive officer of Opportunity International Network and served as chairperson of the Small Enterprise Education and Promotion (SEEP) Network, both US-based nonprofits.

About the Microcredit Summit Campaign: Microcredit Summit Campaign is a project that was launched by RESULTS Educational Fund (REF), a nonprofit advocacy group that is based in Washington, DC. The campaign’s mission is to help 100 million people rise above the international poverty line of USD 1.25 a day by 2015. The campaign also aims to bring financial and business services to 175 million people by 2015, especially women.
