MICROFINANCE EVENT: Mondato Summit Africa 2019; April 9, 2019; Johannesburg, South Africa

The 2019 Mondato Summit Africa, which will be held at Summer Place in Johannesburg, is themed “Scaling Digital Finance & Commerce (DFC) Innovations in Sub-Saharan Africa.” Discussions are slated to cover the evolution of the digital economy, the transformation of telecommunication companies, investment opportunities and policy considerations.

The provisional agenda includes a keynote on corporate restructuring and localization through the merger and acquisition process, the competitive advantages of telecommunication companies in the DFC ecosystem, and a panel discussion on entrepreneurship and investment in DFC in Africa.

Background on Organizer: Mondato was founded in 2008 and is based in the US city of Washington. It describes itself as “a boutique consultancy specializing in commercial and operational support for the DFC industry.” The company holds two annual events, one each in Africa and Asia.

Cost: The standard cost of a delegate pass is USD 1,000. A discounted rate of USD 900 – or USD 1,700 for two people – is available for an unspecified time period. Group rates are available upon request.
