The second FinteQC conference will focus on how the financial industry is transforming in the “digital age,” with speakers sharing their research and experience relating to innovations within the fintech (financial technology) and banking industries. Although the 2019 program has not been released yet, the 2018 event program included topics such as Cryptocurrencies and Disruptive Technologies, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and the Impact of the Fintech Industry.
Background on Organizers: The conference is organized by Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) and the Desjardins Lab, with sponsorship from organizations such as Korem Géospatial and Desjardins. UQAR is a public university with campuses in Rimouski, Québec, and Lévis, Québec. Desjardins Lab and Desjardins are both members of the Canadian cooperative Desjardins Group. Desjardins Lab is involved in areas such as information technology research and the prototyping of new products, and Desjardins is a retail financial services provider. Korem Géospatial, which has offices in the Canadian province of Québec and the US state of Colorado, specializes in the resale and integration of mapping software and data.
Cost and Registration: The attendance fee is CAD 290 (USD 217), with a rate of CAD 230 (USD 172) offered until April 26.
