Summary of Event: The event will explore strategies for the banking industry to maximize corporate social responsibility initiatives through microfinance. The panel discussion will tackle issues regarding the microfinance’s economic and social impact of microfinance such as: poverty eradication, evaluation of investment prospects and social impact analysis and metrics. Following the discussion, there will be a question and answer session and a cocktail reception.
The keynote speaker will be Ms Mary Ellen Iskenderian, President and CEO of Women’s World Banking, a US-based nonprofit. The panelists include: Mr John (JD) Bergeron, Director of Seal of Excellence, Microcredit Summit; Ms Mary Chaffin, General Counsel of Accion; Mr Austin Choi, General Counsel of Kiva; Ms Camilla Nestor, Vice President of Financial Services of Grameen Foundation. All are based in the US.
