Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) plans to enter into a partnership with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), to implement micro-insurance initiative. Their goal is to expand insurance coverage to disadvantaged sectors throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America, thus promoting basic risk management principles and helping to reduce poverty. Founded in 1872, Zurich is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Zurich is an insurance-based financial services provider with offices in North America and Europe as well as in Asia Pacific, Latin America and other markets. The SDC is organized and funded by the Swiss government and operates by financing programs both directly and in partnership with other agencies to countries around the world.
