The Pakistan Microfinance Network has released the 2007 Pakistan Microfinance Review (PMR). The PMR offers an overview of the country in terms of macro-economic performance and the microfinance landscape. This issue offers insights into the dynamics through which the microfinance service providers are striving to improve efficiency in their operations.

The PMR looks into the challenges confronting the microfinance sector in an increasingly competitive marketplace within Pakistan. It discusses the following aspects of MFIs:

* Delivery models;
* Outreach and productivity;
* Operating efficiency;
* Yield, expenses and sustainability.
