Cost: The participation fee is NOK 2000 (USD 356) until March 15, 2013, as of which time the fee increases to NOK 2500 (USD 445). A reduced fee of NOK 1500 (USD 267) is available for students.

Event Summary: The conference will cover the current state of microfinance. Specifically, it will look at microfinance as part of the overall banking segment, as a development tool, and in terms of the governance and management challenges faced by the industry. Discussions will be led by both researchers and practitioners.

Key Dates: The submission deadline for full papers or extended abstracts to be presented at the event is February 28, 2013. The notification date for papers is March 20, 2013, and the final deadline for full papers is May 20, 2013.

Background on Organizers: The conference is being hosted by the Norwegian Centre for Microfinance Research (NOCMIR), a joint initiative between the Kristiansand School of Management at the University of Agder and various microfinance actors. The goal of the initiative is to produce academically-based microfinance information.
