Event Summary: The first day of this event will be split into presentations focusing on: (1) “Social Performance Management” of microfinance institutions (MFIs); (2) regulatory framework of Bank of Ghana and its impact on MFIs in Ghana (3) foreign direct investment and its impact on the banking sector in Ghana; and (4) the role of the African microfinance sector in financial inclusion on the continent. The second day of the event will be dedicated to investor presentations.
Background on Organizers:
The Microfinance Association is a UK-based nonprofit professional membership organization for practitioners in the microfinance industry. The organization’s mission is to develop the microfinance sector. It is a center that provides technical assistance and training related to microfinance to member organizations.
GHAMFIN provides training, industry monitoring and unspecified microfinance products and services to approximately 80 regulated and non-regulated member institutions in Ghana.
