Summary of Event: This event seeks to facilitate “global inclusive development dialogues” by connecting local entrepreneurs with investors and development finance institutions. It will include speakers, networking opportunities, product launches and exhibitions as well as awards recognizing outstanding performance by four social enterprises.

Background on Organizers: The Intellecap Group is a social-sector advisory firm that aims to provide market-based solutions to enhance the business practices of social enterprises. Its services include microfinance development, technology solutions, investment banking and business consulting. Intellecap is made up of three companies operating from offices in India and the US with approximately 600 total employees: (1) IntelleGrow, which provides loans to small businesses in India focused on clean energy, financial inclusion, healthcare, water & sanitation, agriculture supply chain or education; (2) Arohan, a microfinance institution (MFI) providing credit, “micropensions” and insurance products to entrepreneurs in four low-income states in eastern India; and (3) Intellecash, a non-banking finance company (NBFC) that serves as an incubator, providing “lending and capacity building services” to start-ups in Africa and Asia. Additionally, Intellecap organizes the Sankalp forum, which is “designed to support the growth of social enterprises and catalyse impact investments”, and the Intellecap Impact Investor Network to connect high net worth investors with social enterprises.
