Cost: The all-inclusive fee for the event is USD 4,950 which includes registration, lodging and meals. A reduced fee of USD 4,700 is available to those who register by August 31, 2014.

Event Summary: The Opportunity Collaboration is a five-day networking and problem-solving event that engages social entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, social financiers and grant-makers to explore methods of collaboration, identify opportunities for leveraging resources across organizations and generate mechanisms for reducing poverty.

Background on Organizers: Opportunity Collaboration is a community of 250 people who come together to network, foster collaboration and leverage resources with an ultimate goal of global poverty alleviation. The Collaboration, which convenes each year, is scheduled to overlap with the United Nations-recognized “International Day for the Eradication of Poverty” on October 17th.

Event Theme and Topics: The event will be divided into the following sessions: (1) Conversations for Change: Conversations for Change are two-hour work sessions in which delegates will present projects, programs, social investments, case studies, social change ventures, successful pilot projects and partnering opportunities that have achieved “proof of concept”;(2) Colloquium for the Common Good: The Colloquium is a seminar on executive leadership, economic justice and the “good society”. It will address the principles that drive poverty alleviation and asks delegates to think pragmatically about the nature of their leadership;(3) Capacity-building Clinics: This is a session in which delegates will coach each other on media relations, sales and marketing strategies, investor-donor relations, evaluating organizational and programmatic effectiveness, financial planning, business plan writing and other topics as proposed by the delegates;(4)Cluster Forks: These are meal-time discussions in which delegates will discuss a range of topics.
