Summary of Event: The conference is focused on impact investment, investment in organizations and funds with the intention of addressing social or environmental challenges while generating financial returns. Discussions are to include “Asset Class Overview: Opportunities for Returns Through Impact,” “Economically Targeted Investment Programs” and “Platforms to Entry: Increasing Accessibility to Impact Investing.”

Background on Organizer: Information Management Network (IMN) is a for-profit company founded in 1994 that organizes finance and investment and healthcare information technology conferences. In 2004, IMN was aquired by Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, a UK-based publishing and media group. As of September 30, 2012, Euromoney Insitutional Investor PLC reported total assets of GBP 581,000 (939,000 USD).

About the Presenters: The Honorable Bill Lockyer is the state treasurer for the US state of California. He also sits on the governing board of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System. Previously, Lockyer served as Cailfornia’s Attorney General from 1999 to 2006 and spent 25 years in the State Legislature.

As the publicly elected Insurance Commissioner for the state of California, David Jones serves as the head of the California Department of Insurance (CDI). Mr Jones served in the California State Assembly from 2004 through 2010. He served as Special Assistant and Counsel to Attorney General Janet Reno under President Bill Clinton.

Lawrence E. Kochard is the CEO and chief investment officer of the US-based University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO). Kochard previously served chief investment officer at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
