MICROFINANCE EVENT: Financial Research Associates Hosts the 3rd Annual Microfinance East

3RD ANNUAL MICROFINANCE EAST: THE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY

Financial Research Associates (FRA), an organization that provides information and networking opportunities through conferences and seminars, will host the 3rd Annual Microfinance East Conference in January.

The two day conference is being sponsored by Fern Software, a supplier of microfinance software.  Unitus and the Wall Street Microfinance Alliance are also partnering with FRA for the event.  Serving as chairpersons are Bhakti Mirchandani of Lehman Brothers’ Corporate Strategy Group and Howard Finkelstein, shareholder of Akerman Senterfitt LLP and a pioneer in microfinance securitization transactions.  Scheduled keynote speakers include Maria Otero, President and CEO, Accion International; Asad Mahmood, Managing Director, Global Social Investment Funds, Deutsche Bank; Elizabeth Funk, CEO, Dignity Fund; and Caitlin Baron, Microfinance Project Director, Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.  A breadth of topics are scheduled to be discussed during the conference including the value of ratings, operating in the current economy, risk management strategies, and the role of government in microfinance.
